Family pics

We had a little photo shoot on the beach one night. Here a few that came out of that night:

Outing

We took a day off from the beach to hit up the Nags Head/ Kill Devil Hills area. Our plan was to play miniature golf, eat lunch and hike up Jockey's Ridge. However, it was stinkin' hot that day so we barely made it through putt-putt before everyone melted down (literally). Then, we did lunch at Max's Bagel & Deli, followed by Sweet Frog. That helped to cool us down a bit. We never made it to Jockey's Ridge...we'll save that for another trip.

We rode a small train to the first hole. The girls loved that.
Cooling off at Sweet Frog. It makes everything better.

Pool time

Every morning, except one, we headed to the beach for a couple of hours. After we were completely worn out by the sun, we would head back to the house for lunch and nap/rest time. Rest time usually involved a movie for the girls and some shut-eye for the parents. Then, we would hit the pool at our house for an hour or so. Can you see why we're completely exhausted?

The girls are swimming so well. They took lessons for 2 weeks before we left and it made SUCH a difference. Carys had the most dramatic tranformation. She's a little fish (or mermaid, as she likes to refer to herself) now. :-)

Some other fun activities the beach

Here are a few pics of us goofing off around the beach house. There was always a lot of noise from the 4 girls.

Carys' Preschool Field Trip

Today, the little girls and myself took our first trip to Maymont Park. We went along with Carys' 3 year old preschool class and had a great time. I had no idea that it would be like a mini/free zoo.

Eliana enjoying the beautiful flowers and butterflies.

Singing in a circle with her class.

Playing around the big, old trees.

Eliana enjoying a cookie and her scrape from our earlier walk.

The bears were right out in front.

This black snake was NOT in a cage...just coming down a tree. Cool and freaky.

 Sweet sisters.

Snow Day!

We've had no snow in Richmond this winter. In fact, we've hardly had winter temps. However, this past week we had a snow thunderstorm and last night we received about 3 inches of snow. The girls were in their snowgear by 8:30 a.m. to play before the warmer temps took the snow away.

Cambria and Eliana loved the snow, and were out for hours. Avery and Carys were inside within a half an hour. The did not enjoy being cold (it was only 35 degrees). Enjoy the pics!

Carys has the best faces.

Sweet Avery!

Eliana's first snow that she could possibly remember (and she loved it)!
