VBS 2

Here is a picture of the girls in their VBS shirts. They had a great week, though Avery was exhausted by the end of the week. 5 days in a row is a lot for a 3 1/2 year old.

Here is Cambria's VBS class singing and dancing to their song:

VBS 1

Here is Avery and some of her VBS classmates singing and doing hand-motions to their song. EXCEPT, Avery refused to do anything at all. She told me the night before that she would sing and do hand-motions at home, but not a church. It was all I could do not to laugh all the way through this song. Note: Avery is the one on the far left.

Carys in the bath

Carys is the only one of our three girls who likes water on her face. Here is a video of her pouring water over her head. She is also very good when I wash her hair.

My brainy child

Ok, tonight Cambria (age 6) freaked me out (in a good way) with her amazing mind. Jeff had left Google maps open on the computer, so she started clicking around. Then, she asked me to help her find our town. I showed her our house and she proceeded to "drive" herself to her friend Hadley's house, followed by her friend Katie's house, then Lake Wilderness, her elementary school, her dance school and then the church (4 miles from home). The crazy thing is that her friend Katie lives in the town next to ours -- about 3 miles away, so it was a difficult one to find, but she did it. She has been amazing me since birth, but this one definitely blew me away! I wish my mind worked half as well as hers. :-)

Hot stuff

Each day Carys seems to think that she can do more "big girl" things. This past week the action was sitting on the kid chairs to color or eat her snack. Here are a few pictures:

The look and the pose say it all. :-)

Carys is incredibly focused on her coloring. She reminds us of Cambria at this age, who was into reading books non-stop and coloring (and holding her crayon the correct way).

Zirschky's visit

Our dear friends, the Zirschky's, from our Princeton days came by for a short visit last week. It was great to see them again, catch up on life and see the kids growing up. When they left after dinner, Cambria said, "I wish Evan didn't have to leave. He's my best friend."

The whole gang: Evan, Anna, Cambria, Carys and Avery.

More birthday party pics

Here are a few more pictures from Cambria's party:

Carys tasting the sand (not a good thing at Coulon Park).

Cambria is 6!

Cambria turned six on July 8th, however, her birthday celebration was three weeks long. She had cake and presents in NH, VA and at home in WA.

We can't believe that she is already 6! Cambria is growing into a beautiful young girl who loves God, her family and her friends. We are constantly amazed by her ability to learn, remember and master certain skills. This past year she began to read, had a lead in her ballet classes performance, and continued to love any art project.

Below are some pictures of her parties:

New Hampshire celebration with Jeff's parents, Aunt Heather, Uncle Will, and lots of cousins.

Cambria's actual birthday celebration in Virginia (shared with Aunt Becca who has the same birthday)

Cambria's Washington birthday celebration with friends at Gene Coulon Park in Renton (aka Lake Washington). It was a beach theme (note the very cool cake from CJs Bakery).

Carys and the stroller - Part 2

Carys walking with her new stroller

Back home after vacation

We're back from our East Coast vacation. We visited Jeff's family in New Hampshire and my family in Virginia. It was a lot of fun to be with grandparents, aunt, uncles and cousins again. The girls ate up every minute with family. I will try to post some vacation pics soon. It's a daunting task.

It's great to be back home, though. We're adjusting back to West Coast time and glad to be back in our own home again. I'm having a particularly difficult time with the time change....I think it's the combination of jetlag and pregnancy exhaustion (though better) that's still hanging around. Hopefully we'll be back to some state of "normal" in a few days.

The weather is beautiful and yesterday morning the girls and I spent some time in the backyard. Here are a few pictures:
