Dance recital

Dance recitals are coming up soon. The girls recently had picture day, so here is Avery all dressed up in her costume. She's so sweet.

Sewing with Grandma

I'm playing catch up with photos again. Here are some pics of the girls sewing with Grandma late last month. They made a small patch quilt. They became quite proficient with the sewing machine....probably better than their mother. :-)

Pops and Lollies Dance

Last weekend our church held a Pops and Lollies Dance (or, Daddy/Daughter Dance). Jeff took the older 2 girls, and they had a blast. The girls dressed up and I did their hair. I even let them wear a little make-up...usually saved for dance recitals. Here are some pics of the girls with Jeff.

Ukrop's Monument Avenue 10K

Last weekend Jeff ran the Ukrop's Monument Avenue 10K in Richmond. He had a great time of 53:09! I am so proud of him. Jeff had never run when I met him. He started running a little when we lived in Leesburg, but it only took off during our time in Maple Valley (thanks to Nate Strobel). :-)

A little breakfast reading...

We can't get enough of this girl!

15 months old

Eliana is 15 months now. She is a sweet little girl. She's been walking since 11 1/2 months, but is now beginning to walk very fast, or run. She talks up a storm -- cuppy (buppy), Grandma, Granddad, Yen-Yen, Yea-Yea, Bubble Guppies (I'm not joking), Amen, Up, Down, and much, much more. She loves wearing shoes, she walks around sucking on a clean bottle (instead of a passy) and likes to climb stools. She is also cutting her 1st year molars, and though her teething is not the worst of our girls, she has still had some congestion issues and has vomited with it. We love our Eliana!

Playground fun on warm day!

Playing in the yard

I haven't posted on my blog for a month. It's time to do a little catch-up with our spring fun! Here are Avery and Carys playing outside...definitely a sign of Spring. Dirt, water, and pokey things. What more could kids want?

New tricks for Eliana

Eliana is getting new tricks every day. Overall, she is a very good girl. The "trouble" she is getting into is minor compared to some toddlers (especially boys), but it keeps me busy with 3 others to look after.

As you can see, she has discovered how to climb on the kid chair all by herself. It's not the most sturdy chair, so there have been a few falls. Last night at some friends' home, she took a few falls after climbing on their kid chairs. She also climbed their stairs many times and made it into one of their armchairs.

It won't be long until she finds her way onto our couches....

Fun with Granddad

Last weekend my dad came down to visit for the weekend while my mom was at a conference. The girls LOVED having him here. Eliana had lots of hugs for Granddad, he read books to Carys, tickled Avery and played basketball with Cambria. He also had the opportunity to see Cambria make 3 baskets at her game last week!

Avery's new hobby

Recently, Avery purchased a hula hoop with her own money. At first she couldn't keep it up, but within 24 hours she was walking while hula hooping. I also tried the hula hoop, and didn't do too well. I really should do it more often. It's a great workout.

This is what happens when you have older sisters

Circus Day

Last week they had "circus day" at Avery's preschool. The kids were encouraged to dress up in circus clothes or bright colors. I dressed Avery in bright normal clothes (since she hates to have attention), but she decided to put on our clown wig and the gloves. However, by the time we reached school, she was freaking out about the attention she might receive with the wig and gloves. So, all extras were taken off.

She returned home with a painted face (and happy as can be, I might add), found the wig and played the part of a clown for the family.

Playdough fun

Last week Carys and Avery helped me make 2 new batches of playdough. Since then, the girls have been playing with the playdough non-stop. I need to make a new batch once a month...it keep them so busy.

Super Eliana

The girls love to dress Eliana as a super hero. Eliana loves it, as well.

Avery's latest piece of art

This morning, out of nowhere, Avery decided to create this piece of art. It included coloring, cutting and pasting. She completely came up with the idea by herself, and it made me so proud. It's hard to stand out in the crowd with an older sister like Cambria, but she's doing a great job of being her own person.

Warm day

This afternoon was warm, so the whole family took to the outside. The girls played on a neighbor's swing set, which includes the "porch" swing.
